Why took us so long to get to Taste of Ethiopia? We were driving from Starved Rock in Utica Illinois to the Quad Cities with an Eritrean friend and with a strong desire for tasty Ethiopian food, I called them and the owner answered. She was so friendly and at the time that we arrived, she and the rest of her staff treated us kindly. The service was very fast and we were able to enjoy their vegan options. We even took food to go and definitely we will return. We highly recommend this place!
This lovely place has excellent food and service. I'm not super familiar with the Ethiopia seasoning range but what I ate was excellent. George guided us through the menu and made selecting our meals simple. The dinner for two at 25 dollars was a bargain. (We had a take home box). Expand your palate and find some new favorites. I know I did!
My partner and I tried the big platter and were blown away! So much flavor in all the dishes, and the service was great as well. We will be back!
Best Ethiopian food I've ever had. Very nice staff. The meal for 2 was plenty of yummy food for my wife and I.

This is a must-try restaurant for anyone interested in trying authentic ethiopian food. Staff and service was hands down the best I've ever experienced. Food is amazing, establishment is cozy and clean, parking is convenient and restrooms were clean. Can't think of a negative review. Ask for George and Genet the owners who will treat you right.

FYI, they serve Ethiopian style breakfast Saturday and Sunday 11-2!!

We were traveling back home east on I-80 and looked this place up on the web. We had never had Ethiopian food before and since they also had outdoor seating facing the Mississippi, and it was a beautiful summer evening, we decided to try it. We were not disappointed! One of their starters is a typical American loaded fries, and they make it their own with a spicy beef topping that was SO flavorful! The service was outstanding ; friendly and efficient. My husband had the spicy beef and I had the spicy chicken: both delicious and the sides offered a wonderful balance and coolness (tomato salad). We will make this a regular stop on our I-80 travels.
Phenomenal. Great service. Delicious food. Even though this is located quite close to the railroad tracks, the building quality silenced any sounds from trains that passed. One of the better restaurant experiences I've had. Will be back soon.
This was our first time trying Ethiopian cuisine. The owners have a lot of passion for their cooking and gave us recommendations on what to get. Great fish tacos, try the spicy ones. We got the meat dinner for 2 and it was DELICIOUS!
I'm soooo happy to have this place within walking distance of my work. I've only been twice (so far) but the food has been excellent and I often find myself craving it. The service is warm and friendly. The menu is clear and easy to understand. Honestly my mouth is watering just thinking about going back! nice
In a word: Exceptional. Very friendly service, wonderful food, great location, view of the river from their outdoor dining area. We had the meat for 2 dinner with 6 sides (which cost a little extra than 4 sides) The sambusa were wonderful flavored meat pockets somewhere in between an empanada and a samosa. The spicy lentils were my favorite dish but really everything was great. Hot fresh donuts for dessert. My only regret is that we could only eat here once in our trip.
